The Marching band attended the 2019 Bands of America Grand Nationals over November 14th-17th held at Lucas Oil stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. And placed 47th overall in national competition.

The RRHS Marching Band launched its 2016 season with a 3rd place win at the Bands of America regional competition in Monroeville, PA - finishing just .4 points behind the Grand Champion and .3 points behind the second place winner. RRHS also won Overall Outstanding General Effect. This was RRHS' first national level competition and first caption award at a BOA regional. The Band Earned a Finals Spot and Won Class AA, Best Music.

RRHS hosted VBODA state marching assessments and earned a SUPERIOR rating for the 3rd year in a row! The band then hightailed it down to Harrisonburg to perform out of class, in Class AAAAA, at JMU Parade of Champions. RRHS finished sixth in class and sixth on the day (out of 50 bands).

First Place Band AAAAA. Class AAAAA and Overall Best Music, Percussion, Guard, and Visual. Overall Grand Champion with a score of 93.2.

2015 Season- "Tapestries of our Great Nation"  Year 2

 The Marching Band went undefeated this year at all 6 competitions they attended. In addition to earning 1st place in all captions of Music, Marching, General Effect, Percussion and Guard. The students also earned "Grand Champion" at 5 out of 6 competitions, earning second place grand champion in its first outing in the second year of the program

​

     They capped the season off with a unanimous superior rating at state marching assessment, they are 1 of 9 bands to do this statewide. They averaged a score of 97 between 7 adjudicators. They are half way to earning the Virginia Honor Band Award for a second consecutive year.
